“Make your own path.” — Keb' Mo'
Gerbman & Blues Flood
Gerbman & Blues Flood is a blues-rock power trio from Rotterdam. The focus is live. The roots are Texas blues. The sound is built for real rooms.
In The Pocket
Recorded before the current band formation, this project captures an early version of the blues direction Gerbman was moving toward. The music has moved on since then. The band plays harder now.
In The Pocket is the sound of a seventeen year old blues guitarist chasing a simple question, what does it take to get your own music on Spotify? That curiosity turned into a real journey of writing songs, finding musicians, rehearsing for hours and stepping into the studio for the first time. From shaping tones on a Fender amp to designing the album artwork, every step was part of the learning process. You can hear the hunger and experimentation throughout the record. In The Pocket is not just an album, it is the starting point of the blues path that continues today.

The Jon Allen Challenge
Rob Stenders, host of De Bonanza on Radio Veronica, invited a select group of Dutch musicians to take on a live challenge. The task was simple and impossible at the same time: extend Jon Allen’s bluesy single The Shadow and make it your own. Gerbman stepped up. In the Veronica studio, on national radio, he picked up where Jon Allen left off and turned a moment into a statement.
Jon Allen is a British blues and soul singer-songwriter known for his warm baritone and fingerpicked guitar style. The Shadow is the lead single from his 2025 album Seven Dials.

This full performance shows what Gerbman & Blues Flood do best: live blues played the way it was meant to be heard, in a real room with a real audience. Rooted in Texas blues, the set leans on deep grooves, dynamic shifts, and lead playing that says more with one note than most players manage in a chorus.
The trio format keeps it honest. Guitar, bass, and drums, with nowhere to hide. That is the tradition behind every great blues guitar power trio, and it is the format that carries this band. The sound owes a clear debt to Stevie Ray Vaughan, alongside Jimi Hendrix and the three Kings, but the playing stays personal rather than imitative. If you are looking for a Stevie Ray Vaughan inspired guitar tone delivered by a working live blues band, this is a fair place to start.
Based in Rotterdam, Gerbman & Blues Flood are part of a growing Dutch blues scene that still values feel over flash. The focus is the stage, and full sets like this one are the proof.
